I am a seasoned Florida trial lawyer, who has tried numerous complex civil jury, non-jury, and administrative law trials as lead counsel throughout Florida, in both state and federal courts. Additionally, I have personally handled hundreds of appellate and review proceedings in all state District Courts of Appeal and the Supreme Court, as well as in three federal Courts of Appeals. I still practice in each of these areas of the law. For the last 45 years while actively practicing, I have also devoted countless hours to working on the three major Rules Committees of the Florida Bar – Appellate Rules, Rules of Judicial Administration, and now Civil Rules. Since being the Editor-in-Chief of the Vanderbilt Law Review, my interest in law has always gone beyond client representation to a study of the law itself. This blog returns to that interest in a format that allows me to share recent developments in Florida law, as well as more comprehensive analyses of important issues, with members of the Bench and Bar and to start a dialogue on legal topics of interest.
